We are a young, vibrant, growing organisation, passionate that the people we support have the right to expect the same life experiences and chances as any other person and we are committed to making this a reality. We believe in focusing on the Ability in Disability.
Aspen Belmont was established in Slough, Berkshire in 2009 . The founders, Nasreen Ali, Khayam Ali and Zafar Ali created it out of a passion to create a haven ‘….a home away from home….’ environment for people with Learning Disability. “Through decades of personal experience with our own loved one, we know the anxiety and worries that searching for the right support for someone you love can bring. It can be an emotional upheaval and we do not want other people to go through what we went through and so Aspen Belmont is our way of making the process easier.”
We recognise the individuality of all service users and aim to provide a service which best reflects their needs, by taking into consideration their emotional, physical, cultural, religious and psychological needs. This is achieved by the following:
We aim to maximise the degree of involvement of service user’s in making everyday choices and in taking part in personal planning processes.
Service users are encouraged to do things for themselves, such as routine household tasks.
Risk and safety assessments are drawn up with a direct focus placed upon the health and safety of service users.
The manager and staff aim to develop a valued relationship with all service users and their families.
Being responsive to the ever-changing needs of our service users, being attentive to their environment, and enabling them to promote a positive image in the community is at the forefront of our work.
A process designed to assist someone to make plans for their future. We aim to use it imaginatively to increase the quality of life, self-determination and independence of service users.
